24 million monthly listeners and performances at some of the world's biggest festivals - but behind the mask hides a "completely ordinary" Norwegian.
Former Spellemann of the Year, Alan Olav Walker, has been breaking records since 2012 when he started taking his music seriously. It all started with his YouTube channel where his followers encouraged him to produce properly - and it paid off.
The then DJ Walkzz debuted in 2014 with the single "Fade" which was an instant hit. The single broke records worldwide and to date has over half a billion plays across channels. The following year he released the vocal version "Faded" which was certified platinum in 14 countries, was on all sorts of international charts such as the Spotify Global Chart and the top 10 most liked YT videos. The song has over 1.6 billion plays on Spotify alone. To date, the guy has 115 million followers on social media, 8.7 billion views on YouTube, and over 50 billion (!) plays of music and videos.
The English-born musician's CV includes appearances at some of the world's biggest festivals such as Tomorrowland, nominations and wins for a host of awards, opening for the likes of Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Martin Garrix, and collaborations with a huge number of stars. Perhaps not surprising when he has delivered a long list of bangers, such as "Sing Me to Sleep", "Alone", "Darkside" and "On My Way".
Now Alan invites all guests at Ypsilon into his Walkerverse. This is going to be a wild ride – an experience of a lifetime.
